Micro and small business is very busy right now. It is a new year and all the things you learned in business lessons in 2012, are slowing integrated into first quarter processes. Each year of business gets a little smoother, note we did not say easier, and this year is no different.
The big challenge that costs you a good deal of time each and every year is the tracking of the business financials. This aspect of the business is very time consumptive. Assets, liabilities, and equity all have to be categorized daily and they are major variables within any organization.
Depending of the company location; city, local, state and federal all create the necessity to complete up-to-date records for accurate and in depth tax preparation. Accuracy is essential.
When you think about it, how can you grow your business, record every aspect of business, and manage cash flow when you want to grow the business. There are only 24 hours in a day.
AABS Inc, wants to know your business while you grow your business. We can be the bookkeeping business that truly makes it our business to know your business! We can:
- Organize all your financials.
- Track sales.
- Create invoices.
- Assess where costs can be better managed.
- Get you ready by tax day.
- Secure and manage all your information.
- Keep the financial business records.
- Manage purchases, income, receipts, and payments.
Trust us with your business so you can do the things you need to do!

Sometimes small business just has to put things in order. You are doing so many things as an owner, filer, doer, marketer, advertiser, and worker. Your job is 24-7-365 forever; not like that 9-5 guy who lives next store and has that long, long commute to Durham or Raleigh every day. There is a good probability that your commute includes a walk down the stairs and your dress code might include slippers. But you are a seven day a week worker/owner. It is not just Monday through Friday for you.
Micro and small businesses have to do the same thing as IBM or Wake Med. They need to keep everything in order. Here are some fun things to integrate into your desk drawer accounting process. There are indeed things you can do before you bring your mother load to us to get ready for the state of North Carolina and the IRS.
O: The obvious is you must get a box and put everything business related in it. Bills, invoices, restaurant receipts are a start. It is the basis for organization.
R: You need to be in readiness mode at all times. Having a handle on what you are as a business is a very good thing. If the IRS drops a friendly note, we (You and AABS) need to be on alert.
D: It does take discipline to be a successful business. You do not do what you do without focus and purpose.
E: Simply taking 5-10 minutes a day to put paperwork and e-paperwork together will save a lot of time and energy as tax time approaches.
R: Regularity is essential. Do not fall behind. But if you do, we are just a call away!
We like ORDER! And we enjoy having fun with it!
AABS, Inc. is local, loyal, and there for you, your family and your business. We are indeed a different kind of bookkeeping and accounting service. Call us today!

Business managment, Estate Planning, Elder Care, Senior care, Trusts, accounting, AABS. Apex, Bookkeeping, NC, Facebook, Triangle, Twitter, Taxes, Holiday Season, Christmas, Hanukkah, lights, christmas trees, joy, peace, love
Tis the Season we all enjoy for so many wonderful reasons! With the history of Christmas well over 4000 years old, and the history of Hanukkah over 2000 years old, we are deeply involved in the celebration of these ancient yet joyous seasons. Hanukkah starts tonight with the beginning of Festival of Lights and the beautiful Menorah shining in windows and on table tops around the world. These eight nights and days are so rich in traditional custom and beliefs.
It is Christmas week as well. Let’s take a minute to focus on the Assembly, Building, and Creation (The A, B, C’s) of this, the 2011 Holiday Season. The assembly of bikes, toys, wagons and more fill the late evenings and are tucked away for Santa Claus to deliver on Christmas Eve. The building of a plain and empty fir tree to the most gorgeous one in the neighborhood is always a family event. The placement of one meaningful ornament at a time under the star or angel at the very top, becomes the center piece for both home and family; and the creation of the bright and colorful lights decorating the interior and exteriors of our homes round the world sparkle in message as we go travel the holiday-laden streets with constant reminder of this uniqueness of the season.
But the ABC’s of the 2011 Holidays mean more than that to all of us. The assembly of family as we gather together as one to celebrate what the Season is truly about. The building of continued tradition and memories as we remember these as the “good old days” and the increased focus of what is truly important; the creation of the warmest of gathering places filled with wonderful food and the joy and love of family. The simple ABC’s will always continue to ring in the New Year as long as there is an earth and people upon it.
The A, B, C’s are very special.
Blessed is the season
Which engages the whole world
In a conspiracy of love!

Accounting

There is always a simple equation that focuses on the work and life balance that we all experience day to day. The end of the year is a good time to reflect on your business progress over the past 12 months and it is also a good time to plan on how you want your business to develop in the next few months.
Do you want to increase your success in the upcoming year and continue to enjoy the success you have achieved? The answer must be absolutely! These TOP TEN New Year’s Resolutions are designed to help you strike a better work-life balance; Success in the the New Year is just a plan and process away.
1) Learn how to delegate and do more of it. If you own a business you simply cannot do it all yourself. Focus on what you do best and focus on client acquisition. Hire the rest of your business to support staff.
2) Promote your business regularly and consistently. Advertising has gone viral. Use the social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter to build visibility.
3) Make business planning a weekly event. Set just one hour each week for business planning. Increase or decrease as needed but put it on your calendar.
4) Learn something new. Read, listen and understand just one new concept a week that involves your business and your industry.
5) Join a new business organization or networking group. Pick a great business partner, such as your local Chamber of Commerce, and attend the events.
6) Give something back to your community. Find a blood drive. Support the local schools. Be active in making your town a little better.
7) Put time for you on your calendar. You and your family need some time together. Work is not everything.
8) Set realistic goals. “Inch by inch and it’s a cinch.” This quote from the great Billy Graham is still true.
9) Don’t make do; get a new one. Replace and update all of your business tools. Efficiency is critical.
10) Drop what is not working for you and move on. Continually reposition yourself and your business based on your customer’s needs and wants. Stay a step ahead.
Achieving a healthy work-life balance is like maintaining a good relationship; you have to keep working on it. But if you apply these New Year’s resolutions throughout the year, your success is guaranteed!
Let us help make you better!

Every one of us has been given that last chance by someone in an authority position. Your parents “last chanced” you to go to bed, pick up your room, or eat those peas. A boss or two ago might have “last chanced” you to finish that project do your own performance review.
Well here it is; it’s early December and it is your last chance to put 2011 in order for your family and your business. Everything from assessing the tax credits you could be eligible for if you bought that water heater or air conditioner, to getting those charitable contributions organized before year-end.
There are a lot of things you must do and there are only about three weeks left. You should assess your investment gains and losses. If you have mutual funds, check your dividend payouts. You can set up a retirement plan now before 2012. If you need a computer, maybe furniture for the office, do it now before the end of the year. Buy your business supplies now so they are on this year’s taxes.
We recently had a local business owner bring a box with 11 folders in it to our offices. Each one representing a month of the year and each folder stuffed with invoices, expenditures, bills and statements for us to go through and organize for his taxes.
We can all smile at the thought of a box full of multi-colored folders. But here is the thing, he made the time to organize his info as best as he could and he then hired AABS Inc. to facilitate his bookkeeping needs. His focus now is on buying Christmas presents and enjoying the chill in the air. No worries!
The key is scheduling just a little bit of time, maybe 15 minutes a day, to get your business and personal “stuff” organized for the end of 2011. You can do it and we can help you! Consider AABS and your business your team of choice!
Enjoy the Christmas Season!

Accounting
AABS Inc., accounting, Apex, Bookkeeping, Budgeting, Facebook, NC, Triangle, Twitter, Word Press
In December 1620, the Mayflower brought the Pilgrims from England to what is now Plymouth Massachusetts. Soon to experience a horrific winter, in the autumn of 1621 they decided to celebrate the first harvest of the first colony. They invited their new friends, members of the Wampanoag Nation, to join them for a three day celebration. Blessings were exchanged and it became the very first of many special times for the young community yet to be called America.
In 1789, Thanksgiving was declared a day of gratitude and celebration by President George Washington. But it was not until just before Pearl Harbor in 1941 that President Roosevelt declared Thanksgiving to be a legal holiday.
Exactly 70 years later, we give thanks in 2011 to all of our wonderful customers, our family and friends. Giving thanks to all things that matter in our life is indeed the American way. God bless our Armed Forces around the world who will not be at the table with family this year. Freedom indeed is never free.
Once a year, we set aside some time in our hectic lives to focus on family, friends, fun, food, freedom, and a little football, and enjoy the day of close togetherness and gratitude.
When you say thank you to someone, it just makes you both feel good. Thank you for both being friend and client. Without you, we would not exist! Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
Remember we are ACCOUNTING on you to enjoy the Season!
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.” John Fitzgerald Kennedy

In this area of North Carolina, you are blessed with a unique situation that does not replicate itself everywhere. You live in the small business capitol of the country and it is right here in the Triangle. As one of the most highly educated regions, you like taking chances. Many of you have come from the corporate experience and you bring a lot to the table. But the challenges of both micro-business and small business can make or break even the very best.
Each business needs help to grow. In Apex alone, according to Chamber membership numbers, 70% of the members are small and micro- business. That is a huge percentage. As owners, you sometimes must do it all: client acquisition, sales, filing, marketing, and advertising; the whole nine yards. You are often so busy doing non-owner stuff by yourself that the business stop or slows in growth.
One essential aspect of business that is very time consumptive is the bookkeeping of records, bills, and invoices. As one-man bands, making money does not involve record keeping. But it does! Your time should be spent on client acquisition and growth.
Outsourcing your accounting needs to AABS Inc. http://www.aabsinc.com/ makes sense and cents! We take on your bookkeeping and maintain meticulous worry-free files that will be used for tax and other important business purposes. Professional organization can prevents boo-boos! Even a simple math error can draw the attention of the IRS. Businesses have to include what AABS does on a daily basis. Records have to be maintained.
We are local. We want you as a client. And we have fun at what we do. That combination matches your company perfectly. Contact us today!
